It seems like the space contributed to the good mood. Located up there at Level39, our participants could only think of sky high ideas. :-) Once again, thanks to Level39 for making this happen!

Winter News 2013

Another year’s is gone by, one at which I’ve successfully kept ‘The Grim Reaper’ at bay. I’ve just finished another six months of chemo, and I have to say I’ve coped with it much better than last time. Early in the New Year I’m taking part in a research study for a new anti-cancer drug called NUC - 1031, I’ll be one of only 40 people in the world on this trial. Experiments have shown that NUC-1031 can potentially overcome cancer cell resistance which can happen with the normal chemo drugs.

Inspite of all of this I’ve still managed to photograph 5 festivals this year. At the last one, the London Jazz festival http://www.davidredfern.com/tags/london-jazz-festival-2013/, I had a very successful exhibition at the Queen Elisabeth Hall, which I shared with Edu Hawkins, lots of footfall, sold some prints, boxes of books and T-shirts.

We continue with our fruitful association with the Audio Lounge in Wigmore Street London, They continue to sell my prints and Suzy’s cushions, and I’m giving a talk there on March 19th. Also in the spring we are having an exhibition at the Bristol Jazz Festival March 7th – 9th in the famous Colston Hall where we will have prints, books, cushions, and T-shirts on sale, a pre festival press launch will take place on Thursday Feb 27th. Hopefully subject to treatment schedules I’ll be in New Orleans once again for Jazz Fest.

I know it's not been an easy year either for those closest to me, namely my now wife Suzy, she has been marvellous supporting me through thick and thin, especially with old man’s moods.

It’s St Lucia at Christmas for a belated honeymoon, back in time for my youngest granddaughter Rose’s first birthday on Jan 3th.

I look forward to working with, and seeing many of you in 2014. Keep taking the medicine whatever that is, and above all have fun.

Happy holidays!
